Beginner's Capoeira Classes

Beginner's are welcome to ANY of our regular classes !
Fremantle, Leederville and Perth City.

We suggest you wear comfortable loose-fitting clothes, bring water, and be prepared for some fun !
Remember, we all started somewhere, so don't be nervous or shy ... we ARE Perth's friendliest capoeira academy.


Capoeira for Beginners

Formado Grão tailors classes to suit all levels - from beginners to advanced. Spending more time on the basics with beginners, he insists that they still be exposed to advanced techniques, so that they can learn capoeria and form a game around a broader knowledge.
The biggest inhibitor for newcomers is feeling that they don't know enough to join in the roda (pronounced "ho-dah"). The roda is where the game of capoeira is played, and is integral to learning capoeira.

From it's early beginnnings to the Mestres of the modern-era (such as Mestre Bimba and Mestre Pasthinha) the roda is the most important learning tool in capoeira - and allowing beginners to observe more advanced players is one way to improve their training and understanding of capoeira.
